Finish time converter
See the finish time a fixed running pace produces over four race distances.
Enter a pace per kilometre or per mile to calculate finish times for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon. Compare the four results in one table, then save or share them. Each time assumes you hold the same pace for the full distance.
The half marathon and marathon calculations use their full distances of 21.0975 and 42.195 kilometres. Change the pace and calculate again to see how a different target affects all four finish times together.
Finish times at this pace
Fixed-pace arithmetic for four standard distances.
- 5K
- 27:58
- 10K
- 55:55
- Half marathon
- 1:57:59
- Marathon
- 3:55:58
Calculated from 9:00 /mile. Holding that pace for the whole race is an assumption, not a performance prediction.

behind this tool.
Calculate finish times from pace
- Enter your pace as minutes and seconds.
- Choose whether that pace is per kilometre or per mile.
- Calculate the finish times for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon.
- Share, print or save a PDF of the table.
A worked example
- At 9:00 per mile, the marathon finish time is 3:55:58.
- The exact marathon distance is converted to miles before multiplying by 540 seconds; a rounded 26.2-mile distance is not used.
How this tool works
Finish seconds = pace seconds per unit x race distance in that unit. Calculations use full precision and round the final displayed time to the nearest second.
Distances are 5 km, 10 km, 21.0975 km and 42.195 km. Mile conversion uses exactly 1609.344 metres.
This is fixed-pace arithmetic. It assumes the same pace for the whole distance and does not predict endurance or account for conditions.
